Note: The calculator performs only geometric (astrometric) calculations, so it does not take terrain relief into account or local shading factors such as mountains, trees, or buildings. The actual local sunrise or sunset may therefore occur later or earlier than the given time.
The calculator does not account for cloud cover or current weather conditions either, so the actual strength of sunlight may differ. It is also affected by the changing Sun–Earth distance, and because of the elliptical shape of Earth's orbit, an additional ±3–4% variation in irradiance can be observed.
Note: For accurate calculations, the sensor parameters and known flight data must be entered precisely. The application is based on the basic calculations of photogrammetric flight planning, which can be used to check the key parameters of the flight plan. Responsible flight planning must always take into account the relief variability of the work area, obstacles, high objects, valleys, and weather conditions. By modifying the parameters, the flight plan can be optimised to achieve the desired average resolution and overlap.
